Sparrow’s Story

The creation of Sparrow began with a series of three powerful meditations that brought messages from above in late April of 2026.

Amber French, Creator of Sparrow, wasn’t sure at first how the three ideas would fit together, but she wrote it all down and prayed God would make it clear.

About a week later, while driving with her husband to church, the vision of how it would work was revealed.

Her three-fold task was to share a miracle a day online for one full year, curate gift boxes delivering faith and light, and create a local community to discuss and highlight the incredible ways God is showing up in everyone’s lives.

More specifically, she needed to build these beautiful gift boxes to bring careful noticing to specific celebratory or challenging life events.

So often, we need to be reminded that God sees us, loves us, and wants us to lean on Him. That’s what Sparrow boxes represent—someone in your life who sees you, loves you, and is sending you a reminder to keep the faith. We are never alone, even when the world may tell us we are.

How the name Sparrow came to be is fascinating as well. The name came through in the very first meditation. Amber loved it and adored the scripture surrounding these birds.

It was a few weeks after Sparrow’s purpose took shape that Amber realized how many meaningful encounters she had with sparrows in recent years. There were almost too many to count. In fact, the week the idea for Sparrow came to her, the choir at church sang the song His Eye Is On The Sparrow!

Amber had rescued many sparrows. She had never given a second thought to these encounters until the name was shared from above during a meditation.

In 2021, a neighbor approached Amber asking her to help a baby that had fallen from a nest. She took it to a local wildlife sanctuary a few towns away. Just a few weeks later, that neighbor asked again for help with another baby sparrow. When Amber asked the neighbor why she kept coming to her for help with the birds, the neighbor laughed and told her she didn’t know why she kept asking her.

In 2022, Amber had scooped a sparrow up and set it free from a train station stairwell, she went to work later that day, elated about the rescue, her and her co-workers joked that she must be related to Snow White.

A few months later, one was flying around Amber’s basement and wound up in her husky’s jaws. Thankfully, she was able to pry it away from her dog and set it free with minimal damage.

In 2024, while jogging, she came across a baby sparrow that had fallen from a row of bushes in front of a church. She brought it home to make sure it was okay, then returned it to the bush and repositioned the nest so it was secure.

In 2025, Amber won a family vacation on a TV show. While at the resort pool, several birds were scattered around. She told her husband how badly she wanted to hold one particularly adorable bird—and voilà. She was holding that very bird mere moments later. They have a photo of this incredible moment and when she went back to look at the picture to see what kind of bird it was, she took note it was indeed, a sparrow.

Every Sunday, after church, Amber and her husband grab coffee from a different coffee shop. There was one in particular they were favoring over some of the others so they headed there. To their surprise, the lights appeared to be off, but they couldn’t tell from the car if it was truly closed. Amber got out of the car and went to the door to peek inside. As she approached the door, she saw a stunned and fluttering sparrow lying on the ground right in front of the door. She scooped it up and took it home. She found a box and set it inside, leaving it next to her garden while she ran inside to get some birdseed. When she came back it had flown away. This was in April of 2026, the same month the idea for Sparrow would come to life.

In May of 2026, a sparrow built a nest in their basement door nook the day she formally registered the business name!

Having had so many of these beautiful interactions with these creatures, there is no doubt it was all part of God’s plan and her larger purpose.

As for that larger purpose, Amber’s biggest hope is that each Sparrow box and each miracle post on Instagram help to reignite the light within and act as a reminder that God is always with us.
