Our Story
The creation of Sparrow began with a series of three powerful meditations that brought messages from above in April of 2026. Amber French, CEO of Sparrow, wasn’t sure at first how the three ideas would fit together, but she wrote it all down and prayed that God would make it make sense.
About a week later, on a drive to church, the vision became really clear and all at once she understood the assignment.
Her three-fold task was to share a miracle a day on Instagram, curate gift boxes delivering faith and light, and create a local community to discuss and highlight the incredible ways God is showing up in everyone’s lives.
More specifically, she needed to build these beautiful gift boxes to bring careful noticing to specific celebratory or challenging life events. So often, we need to be reminded that God sees us, loves us, and wants us to lean on Him. That’s what Sparrow boxes represent—someone in your life who sees you, loves you, and is sending you a reminder to keep the faith. We are never alone, even when the world may tell us we are.
How the name Sparrow came to be is pretty fascinating as well. The name was given to her in the very first meditation. She loved it, and she adored the scripture surrounding it. It was a few weeks after Sparrow’s purpose took shape that she realized how many meaningful encounters she had with sparrows in recent years! There were almost too many to count. In fact, the week the idea for Sparrow came to her, the choir at church sang the song His Eye Is On The Sparrow!
Even more mind blowing was Amber had rescued sparrows in more situations than she could remember. She had never given a second thought to these encounters until Sparrow came to fruition.
Amber had set one free from a train station stairwell, her husky’s jaws, a closed coffee shop doorway, her neighbor’s fallen nest, and a baby from a nest that fell from a bush in front of a church she was jogging in front of back in 2024. A sparrow even built a nest in her basement door nook the day she formally registered the business name!
Miraculously, while in Cabo on a vacation she won on a TV show in 2025, she told her husband how badly she wanted to hold one particularly adorable bird—and voilà. She was holding that very bird mere moments later. They have a photo of this incredible moment and when she went back to see what kind of bird it was in the photo- she saw it was indeed a sparrow.
Having had so many of these beautiful interactions with these creatures, there is no doubt in her mind it was all part of God’s plan and her larger purpose.
As for that larger purpose, Amber’s biggest hope is that each Sparrow box helps to reignite the light within and act as a reminder that God is with us every step of the way.
